Closing Ceremony
4th June 2006. The final day for DIP Inter-company Olympiads that had commenced on 21st May 2006. DIP took this initiative for its patrons, and they are planning to come up with more events in the near future. The games were officially declared closed by Mr. Ammar Al Duwaikh from DIP.

Over these days we saw companies compete for the final award, the big one, overall winner of the Olympiads. It was an exhibition of undying team spirit, never say die attitude, a strong urge to win about which one can talk over and over again. It was not just about individual glory; it was about the team as a whole, it was about zeal to win.

Over these days we seen teams climbing up and down the ladder of points for the championship, but what mattered the most was the final standing and Arabtec came out with flying colors leading the table & Faisal Jassim Trading Company came in second.

The Awards ceremony was held at the ballroom of Marriott courtyard in the Greens Community. Everyone was served with some lip smacking pastries and refreshments before the actual ceremony started. One could see people from different companies interacting with each other, talking about the games, about business so it was very clear that this worked as a wonderful platform for interaction.
The ceremony kicked off with a brief introduction of the guests by the organizer Mr. Waleed Hamed from Yala Sports, a speech by Mr Ali Kassam the Director of Xtrapulse.com and thanking the sponsors.

Giving Away the prices were Mr. Ammar Al Duwaikh from DIP & Mr Jad Elias from Ford. It was wonderful to see the winners come up and take away the medals to a round of applause they deserved. The awards for individual sports were followed by a special award given to two sportsmen Othman from Arabtec and Samir from Faisal Jassim who stood out amongst the rest earning a lot of points for their team.

The Overall Champions of Inter-company Olympiads 2006 were Arabtec with a huge margin over Faisal Jassim. The entire team walked up to a round of deafening applause to receive the winners trophy from Mr Ammar. They basked in the glory of being the winners of first ever Olympiads , which would always be etched in their memories.

The event closed with a video clipping of the best of Olympiads which showcased the images and videos shot over the entire event compiled in a small package. The event is over but the memories will always remain. There will be more companies participating next year, the number of games will increase and so will the competition.

Adios till the next Olympiads!!
