Details *
As its name suggests, Dubai Investments Park Inter-company
Olympiad 2010 will see participants from corporate organization
including public and private sector as well fielding
teams to compete in sporting events. Seventeen such
events are included: Indoor Soccer, Indoor Cricket,
Badminton, Basketball, Beach Soccer, Beach Volleyball,
Billiard, Karting, Marathon, Chess, Table Air Hockey,
Table Football (Foosball), Outdoor Soccer, Swimming,
Table Tennis, Tennis and Volleyball.
* A 35 sporting competition
tournament will be hosted at various prominent clubs
and venues offering Indoor & Outdoor Sports facilities.
A grand Closing Ceremony is also planned, where the
winners will be announced and presented with their medals,
trophies or plaques.
* Aimed at promoting friendly
inter-company competition and encouraging healthy lifestyles
among employees of the participating companies, the
Olympiad is Dubai's first event of its kind organized
on such a large scale. Our goal is to make it an annual
event in Dubai's sporting calendar, to give companies
a means of expressing corporate citizenship and corporate
social responsibility (CSR) while also generating goodwill
and PR exposure.
* The event will launch
on 19th Feb2010 and culminate with a Closing Ceremony
held on 25th of March 2010.
* Companies
can compete in more than one event but are encouraged
to compete in all of them. Overall winner of the Olympiad
will be decided by a points system where companies earn
points for the top 6 places in every event. A breakdown
of the points system is shown in the rules page.
